Financials Module – Production Release Update

Overview

The latest production release introduces several updates to the Financials module, along with improvements to estimates, payments, inventory, work orders, and activity tracking.

These updates add more visibility into financial activity, simplify common workflows, and make it easier to track changes across financial and operational records.

This article provides an overview of the updates included in this production release.

Revenue and Expense Filters in Payments

A new filter has been added to the Payments tab to help distinguish between revenue and expense transactions.

This allows financial records to be filtered based on their transaction type, making it easier to review incoming and outgoing payments.

Financial Stats for Quick Reference

Quick-reference statistics have been added to the Invoices, Vendor Bills, and Payments tabs.

These stats provide visibility into amounts such as:

• Paid amounts

• Pending amounts

The statistics give users a quick overview of outstanding and completed financial activity without having to review individual records.

Combined Changes in Estimates

Estimate changes have been updated so that additions and reductions can now be handled through a single change.

Previously, separate change orders were required when an estimate included both an addition and a reduction.

With this update, both types of changes can be included together, simplifying the process of updating an estimate.

Taxes in Estimates

Taxes can now be added directly to Estimates.

This allows applicable taxes to be included when preparing an estimate and provides a more complete representation of the expected project cost.

Filtering Gateway and Manual Payments

A new payment filter has been added to distinguish between payments received through a payment gateway and payments added manually.

Users can now filter payments based on how the payment was recorded, making it easier to review and reconcile financial transactions.

Combined Product Listing and Inventory

The Product Listing and Inventory sections have been merged into a single tab.

The product listing now also displays the available stock levels for each product. This provides product information and inventory visibility within the same view.

Users can review products while also checking their current stock levels without switching between separate tabs.

Creating Work Orders from Board View

An option has been added to create a Work Order directly from the Work Order Board.

This allows users to create work orders while working within the board workflow instead of navigating to a separate area to create them.

Activity Tab for Records

An Activity tab has been added to:

• Estimates

• Invoices

• Purchase Orders

• Work Orders

The Activity tab provides a history of important actions performed on the record.

Users can view activities such as when a record was:

• Sent

• Approved

• Updated

• Changed

This provides greater visibility into the history of a record and makes it easier to understand what actions have taken place.

Editing Saved Templates

Saved templates can now be edited in modules such as Estimates and Invoices.

Previously created templates can be updated when changes are needed, allowing users to maintain their templates without creating a new one.

This also applies to other areas where saved templates are available.

Notifications for Financial Activities

Notifications have been added for financial activities.

Users can now receive notifications related to relevant financial actions, making it easier to stay informed about changes and activity within the Financials module.

This production release introduces several improvements across Knockio's financial and operational workflows.

The updates provide better visibility into payments and financial totals, simplify estimate changes, add tax support, improve product and inventory visibility, and make it easier to track activity across estimates, invoices, purchase orders, and work orders.
